We past by the point that Burke and Will passed through on their discovery of Australia. This was the only monument that I could get Nathan to stop at! And yes we did let a caravan get in front of us but it wasn't a drama as we managed to overtake it again just up the road!
Nathan was so happy arrive at the Queensland border. The kids however refused to get out the car to join him in a photo. There was some murmuring about Stinky Queensland! 
This was by far and away the high point of my parental career. What do you think this next picture is.......... 
It is a great big dinosaur poo! One of them left it there on its way to Winton! Unfortunately (for me!) Matthew was far too smart and replied with "Mum, I think you will find it is a dome termite mound." Darn him, last time I take him to a museum to learn stuff....like names of termite mounds!
