10C!!!!!!
Those who know me well know about my travels through bra hell. I only got my first bra because my mum was sick of me whinging about not having one. I endured the mortification of not being able to have a sport bra until my mum saw visible proof that my boobs actually wobbled. I really actually didn't get a bump until i started breastfeeding Matthew! Then they exploded over night. Well laugh it up all the boys that teased me at school by saying I made the walls jealous. I was just fitted for a bra and it is a 10C!!!! And just coz I can hear my grandad laughing hysterically in heaven. I'll make him laugh harder. My over shoulder pebble holder has pads of cream in it! (Apparently it has a more life like effect!) Excuse me I'm off to admire my magnificent bosom in the mirror!

And now a word from Nathan
Nathan has something to say that the whole wide world need to hear. Take it away Nathan........
Umm........ Ahh........... Well.........
I would like to apolo... apolo.... (geez who thought it would be so hard!) I would like to apologies to Jen for giving her a hard time last week, when I expressed how upset I was that 'everything' was being left to me to do or it just wouldn't happened.
Jen was fighting a flu that had knocked her stamina about and left her exhausted. But that didn't make me feel any better.
So for the last few days I felt like I was coming down with a flu and today it hit me hard...... Coughing, headaches and a bad case of ....... exhaustion. To the extent that I came home from work today at lunch time. This was particular difficult as I knew I was about to face a stiff welcome home from Jen when I told her I was sick.
So for the rest of today I have had to eat humble pie - and lots of it.
So I need to state her my apology to Jen for giving her a hard time and not being sympathetic to the way she was feeling at the time.
Jen - I am sorry!
There I said it - for everyone to see - are you happy??? Can you now please go and call the paramedics as i am DYING from this flu!!!! Please make me better!!!! It hurts!!! and I am soooooo exhausted!!!!!!

Where did I come from?
The dinner table discussion tonight was over Mummy's fat belly. Matthew decided it was fat because there was a baby in there. He then asked how was the baby going to get out? Daddy tried to dodge the question but Mummy was more mature and gave him the correct answer. To which Matthew replied with "What??!! No!" (squealed at the top of his voice and a disgusted look on his face!)
So.... we told him and he didn't believe us, is that the end of our birds and the bees discussions?

Hotting
Ryan had been watching Daddy working on the computer. He then came down to my bedroom to inform me that Daddy was "hotting the Dvdv" (that extra v is not a typo Ryan calls them dvdv's!) so he could watch it in quiet time!

Time for a hair cut
We were driving along the other day when Ben let out this roaring cry. I thought he had been bitten by a spider or something drastic. So I pulled the car over and got in the back to see what it was. Turns out Ben had been sucking his thumb and when he does this he simultaneously twirls his hair. Anyway in between the thumb sucking and the hair twirling he had knotted his hair around his finger. He had then tried to pull it out only to tighten the knot! I had to tear his hair to get his finger out! So now he is off to the hairdresser for his first hair cut. Cid, as you have been nagging me for ages you might have to come with me to dry my tears as my baby is styled into a little boy. Make sure you bring plenty of coke and chocolate!
Emily
Ben has been going around the house for the last few days saying "Emily" in a sing song voice. He has been wanting me to join him in this song but I have had NO idea what he has been on about! Until I listened carefully to the whole song!
"A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K, EMILY, Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Y,Z!"
And now he knows his ABC's and random girls names!

Christmas is Coming
Matthew has been waiting patiently for Santa to arrive at Westfields for weeks. His chair has been sitting there empty and it has been driving Matthew nuts. Anyway on Tuesday we went to westfields and Santa was in his chair. You could see the excitement bubble up inside Matthew. He skipped along and then asked me if Santa is coming tomorrow. I said "No mate it's a long time til Santa comes." He then asked how many sleeps? I replied "37." He then asked "how many days?" I replied "37!" This was received with a grunt. How am i going to keep my children's excitement contained for the next few weeks? How am I going to feel when it is my children waking me up at 2am telling me in excited whispers that Santa has been! Just like I did just a few decades ago! I think life is funny, I am just as excited about Christmas as they are but for a different reason. I can't wait to play Santa for my kids and to watch the magic of Christmas make a positive impact on their little lives.
Good Food Habits
We are trying to teach the boys good food habits and as a result everything that we eat is preceded with this question. "Mummy is this a sometimes food or an everyday food or a never food?" (Peanuts is a never food for Matthew as he is anaphylactic) He is learning what is healthy food and what isn't so healthy. Anyway we just got back from a birthday party where Matthew hadn't eaten much so I asked him why he didn't eat anything. He replied with "But Mummy it was all sometimes food!" I then explained to him that he just missed his "Sometime!"

Retirement
Picture this: A husband and wife sitting outside reading the paper.
Wife: What are you reading?
Husband: An article on over 50 villages.
Wife: Are you looking at one for us?
Husband: Yes and the two years after you turn 50 and before I turn 50 are going to be the most peaceful of my whole life!

My name is Jenni and I'm a yes-a-holic!
I got a call yesterday from target asking me if I could work on the weekend. They were apparently desperate. We have a huge weekend planned. Matthew has a birthday party, we are helping at a Bunnings BBQ not to mention the fact that Nathan has been away all week and next week i have a meeting EVERY night. But guess what i heard coming from my mouth even though my head was screaming "NNNOOOOOOOOO!" it was "Sure Deb of course I can help you out!" Maybe my new years resolution for next year will be only biting off what I can chew!

Cool Shit, Cool Shit
Yo Gabba Gabba is a show on the ABC that my boys love. It is THE most ridiculous show on TV but it does have good messages so I let them watch it (I leave the room!). Any way it has a segment called "Cool tricks, Cool tricks" Today for example was a grown man squeezing out Twinkle little star by pressing his palms together. Great stuff hey! Any way Ben then wanted to show me his "Cool shit, cool shit mummy!" I was laughing too hard to correct his pronunciation and i think it really should be called cool shit cool shit!

The sweet sounds of a happy childhood.
We are walking to school at the moment because the weather is just perfect. On the way there Matthew and Ryan ran the whole way. The stopped on the line before the road every time and waited for me holding hands. They chatted and raced and played the whole way. We dropped Matthew off and then walked home. Ryan skipped, hopped and ran home. He had an imaginary conversation with Matthew on his pretend phone, chatting merrily away. He waved at everyone that drove past. He admired the flowers and marvelled at the bees. Children get the most enjoyment from the simplest stuff. And it is such a joy to watch!

Inconsolable
Poor Matthew is sobbing his heart out. Nanna and Poppy Rickard have just been to visit for the weekend. However they have now left. And Matthew is so very unhappy. He tried to convince them to stay and yet they still left. So now he is sobbing. And unfortunately I cant ease his pain only Nanna and Poppy can do that. The joys of living far away from your family!

Two Plugs and a brag.
First plug! One of my friends here in Canberra makes beautiful organic bath products. The boys bath in organic watermelon bubbles. I cleans with her lovely cleansers which feel so nice on my picky skin. I haven't had any dermatitis outbreaks since i started using her products. So if you need some gorgeous organic bath products the company is called Dare to be Natural (her last name is Dare! Get it!) check out her web site.
Second plug! My long time friend Nicole has started her own photography business. I am really looking forward to her taking our family photos at Christmas time because her work is stunning. So if you need a photographer and you are in Brisbane here is your lady!
And finally for the brag. My other lovely friend here in Canberra has made some gorgeous artwork for Ben and Ryan's room. She used a lino block and a whole lot of things that my completely non-creative body cannot understand but I love it and so do the boys. Ben especially because he thinks Margie is more beautiful than Mummy! And she is too! So the boys have the best artwork ever in their bedroom!

Miles Franklin Fun Day
Last Saturday was the Pre School Fun Day. Well actually it was a birthday party a 11.30, Fun day 12.30 then another party at 2! It was such a busy day because Nathan and I also went out for dinner that night which worked out really well because we had the kids all hyped out on sugar and then left the babysitter to out them to sleep! Really we are genius parents! Any way here are some pictures of the fun day.
An absolutely exhausted baa lamb!
Ben going what the *@#$ is that!
A Vent
To the lady in the toy department of a leading retailer today you are one rude woman! Firstly she rammed her trolley into my stroller (thankfully empty) coming around a corner then she squashed Ryan between her trolley and the shelving! I was quite vocal as I called to Ben "Come on Ben we are going before you get squashed too!" And whilst i was calming down Ryan I loudly said "I've never seen such a rude person out shopping!" (Probably not true about her being the rudest but she was pretty darn shocking!) She didn't even apologise! Probably because her above averaged sized children could withstand a crushing of that magnitude but our dainty little Ryan was not so lucky! End of nasty vent! Thank you!
