I am now referred to as "Matthew's Mummy". Today in the car park after i dropped Matthew off a little girl walked past and said to her Mummy "That's Matthew's Mummy there". A few weeks ago I was at the local shops and the same phrase was uttered by a different little girl. Even the kids at playgroup call me Matthew's mummy or sometimes Ryan's mummy (not Ben's mummy yet as his friends cant talk but soon!) This is a really interesting phase for me as I'm not used to being recognised anywhere. As a child growing up we moved so often that by the time you had settled in enough to be recognised you moved away. As a young adult in Sydney you certainly didn't look anyone in the eye so you could get to recognise them. So this is all new to me! And a little freaky but I'm enjoying it.
What I am also enjoying is the fact the all the kids know Matthew or at least his name! He does appear to be popular which was one of my concerns before he started school. Last year in playschool he didnt make any friends until the very end. He didn't even learn the other kids names. So he must have matured that little bit extra and is ready to make friendships. Also, before school Matthew was so attached to Ryan and Ryan was so open and friendly that Ryan was the one people spoke to first or played with first. I could see Ryan with a massive group of friends (mostly girls!) during school with Matthew only choosing one or two really close ones. When that theory has been blown out of the water. And I'm glad. I think in years to come I'm going to have three very popular, social boys. And i just think my house with be the place where the "In crowd" hangs!

I love you, Noddy!
Nathan took me out for dinner for our anniversary. It was great. A lovely meal and the best bit.....cocktails. I haven't had a drink in a VERY long time so by the time i got to my second sip i was well an truly tipsy. By the time I got to the end of my third cocktail i was drunk. So after a lovely night my husband drives me home. I stumble up the pathway to the door then decide i NEED to call my brother. Noddy always calls me when he has had a few to tell me that he loves me and generally dribble rubbish. I am usually very short with him and the call usually ends up with me hanging up on him and turning my phone off. So i don't know why i thought it was a good idea (something to do with all the alcohol in my system maybe?!) Anyway, so Noddy answers my late night (9.30! But we are married with kids who don't get out often!) drunk dial. I tell him I love him and we chatted. Have no idea what we talked about mostly rubbish I'm sure. But he didn't hang up on me! He in fact called back the next night to see how i was and if i had a good night. And that it was the funnest phone call he had had in a long time! So I think next time he drunk dials me I might just have to talk to him!

This time five years ago I was standing in my wedding dress waiting for all the fuss around me to die down so we could leave, to get me married!
My wedding day was a lovely, lovely day but it has nothing on the last five years. I would take spending time with my boys, talking to my husband or looking after my family any time over the hoopla of a wedding. For me the wedding was just a thing I had to do to get to the marriage. Being a bride was nice, being a wife was what I wanted more than anything. Now with the benefit of hindsight I am amazed that I love my husband MORE, by a bucket load, than I did on my wedding day. That has been one of the many surprises of married life!
There are many achievements I am proud of, the first being our three children but the biggest is how Nathan and I have grown together. We can work anything out. It might take a while (I'm still working on getting him to put his clothes in the clothes basket.) but we will get there in the end.
Thank you Nathan. For being my best friend, my support, my partner, my inspiration, my lover. The list is very long but Thank you! (Especially for the bling!) I love you.

Snuggles
Benny got woken up this afternoon by a delivery guy and because of this he didn't wake up a happy camper. So that led to the next 30 minutes in my chair with him on my knee snuggled in. He assumed his comfort position, thumb in and curling his hair around his finger at the back of his head. And there we sat. Me, breathing him in and him doing the same. The other boys were playing in the back yard so we had complete peace. It was beautiful. Just me and my baby.

I want to be a ...... Brumby!
Nathan took Matthew to the Rugby Union recently. And what an experience. Matthew has always loved sport. I don't think he has ever been giving an opportunity to dislike it, after all he was only 3 months old when he went to watch Steve Waugh's last test! So anyway... Nathan and Matthew went off for some father son bonding. It was a huge success. Matthew now knows phrases such as "Go Brumbies, Smash 'em" and "Aww, that was soft" and the cruncher "The lions are losers". How do you think they will go down at Auskick on Sunday?!
I've been meaning to tell you all....
About our Anzac day. We had a massive build up in this house to Anzac day. As my father is a return serviceman I feel strongly about educating my children about the meaning of this special day. We have been reading My Grandad marches on Anzac Day (we changed it to Grumpy by the way) for weeks. So much so that Matthew was able to read it to his Grandad. So this Anzac day we rose early to catch the dawn service which is always memorable at the war memorial. They boys loved it (except Ben, he apparently liked the buses in the minutes silence, the whole town now knows there were buses at the dawn service!) They were well behaved and respectful. (Except for when they were given a candle and they thought they were at carols by candlelight!) Then we came home for a cooked breaky and to defrost then it was off to the march. I find the march really emotional but again the boys thought it was great, after all there were horses and jeeps and everything. So again another success. So i am so glad i am giving my children an education in heroism and an appreciation for what these men and women have done for us and our country.
Playschool

Ryan is a playschool student. He had his first session this morning. He wasn't overly excited, I think he felt it was about time! He was so ready for this. He waved me off with a "See ya, I'm going to play playdough!" So that's two down, one to go! They are just growing up way too fast. There really isn't anything i can do to stop them!
(Ha! I was just looking at these photos and noticed the scribble on the wall and then i have looked over at the wall and yes there is definitely scribble on there! Grrrr!)
