Easter 2010
Guess what time the Easter bunny came to our house this morning??? Due to the daylight savings change over it was 5 bloody o'clock! And since 5.10am I have had three hyper boys buzzing on nut free chocolate! This has been our first nut free Easter (well kind of, there is no way I'm missing out on my beloved cadbury's chocolate!) And so far so good. Matthew hasn't been ill ......yet! It is 9.15am and Ryan has eaten ALL of his chocolate! Maybe next year we should just stick to the painted eggs!
Matthew's
Ryan eating the paint (can you imagine this boys as a teenager??!!)
Ben concentrating hard
Daddy's beautifully designed egg
Mine!
The Easter egg search begins.......
That Easter bunny sure is funny.... eggs in Mummy's bra! Daddy said it reminded him of mummy's boobs of the the past!
First egg down.....
That didn't last long.....
Matthew went with the safe option of the gummy bunnies the Easter bunny left.
The after photo of this would have been much more impressive!
I must say the Easter bunny does provide a day of entertainment. So far during breakfast Matthew spotted an egg up on the curtain rail. Benny just found on on top of the TV when he was asked to turn it off. I have it on good advice there are still around 15 unfound eggs hanging around in "special" places! If they don't find them today, when they have gone to bed I'm going to conduct my own little search and I wont be sharing what I find!

I think the crack in my bum is getting bigger!
No its true! This is something that i stress over. Is the actual crack getting bigger or is my bum just getting bigger? Recently I asked this question of a group of my close friends and they all ended up in hysterics! I cant understand why! I am genuinely fretting that one of these options is the case!
This all comes about from the fact that people often comments on Ben's builder's crack! Whether it was nappies or now jocks his bum crack has always been visible. Recently people have begun to add he must get it from his mum! Well this shocked me! Then I began realising that yes indeed when i would squat down to attend to my children a glimpse of builders crack could been seen! This didn't use to happen! So I am left to ponder as to why it is now the case. Is the the cut of my jeans? Is it the extra 20 kg I have been carrying since having my children? Has the stress of carrying three large babies in less than three years split my bum crack? Is it possible for a bum crack to get bigger? Many years ago we used to live next to a little girl who firmly believed the crack in her bum meant it was faulty and she could refund it for a new uncracked one at Kmart. Perhaps I should be asking for a refund? (I know at times my husband wished the old 50kg version would come back, however he would like to keep the current breasts thank you!)
I remember as a young woman jeans that were low enough to display your belly button were in fashion. A guy at a club asked me why I didn't wear such jeans as I had great abs. Well the answer was first of all my belly button is really low and if I was to wear them I would require a Brazilian to do so and secondly low cut jeans wouldn't stay up as I had no hips or bum and they would basically fall off! So it seems to me that I shall never be able to wear any style of jean that is currently in vogue!
So is this what I shall have to bear for my remaining existence? A peek a boo bum crack? Are high waisted jeans ever going to come back into fashion? Should I write a letter to Just Jeans requesting a style specifically for post large baby bearing women? Would masking tape fix the problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Lego
Many, many years ago a young man called Nathan decided to choose engineering to study at university based on the fact that he loved building lego. Years later that young man was blessed with three young sons. From the time the first son was three months old he began instilling in him the importance of lego. Even more years later he is well on the way to developing three more budding engineers!
If you have ever been to my house you would have more than once stood on a stray piece of lego or been exposed to some construction that is supposed to be a plane or car or truck! The Rickard lego collection must currently stand at 1 million pieces and it apparently going to continue to grow if the chief engineer has anything to do with it!
This is what a standard weekend morning looks like in our house....

I often feel sad that my children are growing up without their extended family around them. As a child myself sometimes we lived close to family other times far away. During my teenage years we lived close to both my Grandparents and cousins from the Reymer family. My cousin Karen was closest to me in age so she was my "favourite" cousin. Now Karen lives about 2 hours away in Bargo so she often visits with her daughter Molly. As was the case last week. It was the first time the boys have been able to interact with Molly (last time she was a newborn) as she is now 7 months old. It was so interesting to me to see how they fared. The first day they ignored her! The second they warmed up a little and often found her things they thought she would be amused by. The third day they were all over it! Matthew even read her a bedtime story!
It started beautifully...
until he found it hard to see around her moving head...
He found a way around this problem......
and Molly started to really enjoy it......
until her 2 second attention span was diverted by Ryan.....
and everything fell over!

and everything fell over!It makes me a little sad that the boys will never have the experience of looking after a baby sibling because I think it really promotes responsibility and I think that they would really rise to the occasion. But by the same token I wouldn't swap the kinship that they all currently share! And they will just have to practise on other peoples babies!

I guess you would have to expect....
with three boys in the bath that one day you would end up with a cup filled with urine. You cant be surprised that the cup was filled by two brothers who are threatening the other brother. Can you guess who filled it and who was about to wear it?
