An oldie but a goodie!

If I had have been blogging when Matthew was born this story SO would have made it on there! And now that I am here it is!
There is an wives tale that you use cabbage leaves to help with the pain of your milk coming in. It has since been modernised to a frozen nappy, as that is much more hygienic. Anyway when I started to get some pain in my breasts and was sick of the brussell sprout leaf jokes (Before Matthew was born I had no boobs, hardly even a ripple, hence the brussell sprout jokes!) I asked Nathan to put a nappy in the freezer. Hours later I asked him to get the nappy as it should be frozen by now. This is what I got........
The poor boy didn't realise it had to be a disposable nappy. And as we mainly used cloth nappies he froze a cloth one! But as you can see from how carefully it was folded he truly was trying to be thoughtful. But the truth is he is just not very smart! That nappy had frozen solid into the hardest block. There was no folding around the contours of my newly formed breasts! However there were two benefit to using this unorthodox method. 1. I could kind of do two boobs at once (although a hard nappy against tender boobs was not nice) and 2. It turned out the be the softest, fluffiest nappy Matthew had!

Matthew

My favourite photo of Matthew. Aged 2 1/2 months on New Years Eve having a picnic on Sydney Harbour.
Check out those speedo's

Can you see a swimming theme going on here? For a while Matthew would not go ANYWHERE without these around his neck.

Matthew just hanging out with Grumpy.

Taken in Port Macquarie early one morning on our way home from Brisbane.

Back then he would share anything with anyone. And yes they did have a bite each!

Have you ever noticed that Poppy and Daddy are really tall?

If ever I need the boys out of my hair for a while I give them a bowl of hundreds and thousands and I have complete silence!
Nanna Walker, Matthew and I at Kings Park in W.A

I didn't know it at the time but Matthew was cutting his first tooth here at 3 months. There was ALOT of dribble!

Matthew's first encounter with a dog.

Checking out the beach at Wollongong.

Just after he split his head open. His face was a mess of bruises!

Playing cricket non stop with whoever would play with him in Ulladulla.

Ben

Helping himself to chocolate mousse!
Ben helping to clean the permanent marker off the wall that his brothers put there

Face planted in the sand!

The boys all have puppies. Ben and Matthew got theirs from Auntie Bron and Courtney and when Ben was nearly born I travelled the length and breadth of Canberra looking for one for Ben. So now the have one each. Matthew has the biggest one, Ryan the middle sized one and Ben the baby one.

How cute is that chubby little face.

Flirting with Nanna Bev

Brand new in a bumble bee outfit Nanna Walker bought him. We had to put it on him and take a photo of it as he grew out of it while he was wearing it!

EOFYS

Have you seen the foxtel ad on TV with the singing and dancing, celebrating the end of the finacial year?
Well it is Ben's favourite ad! First of all we just had to put up with him singing the jingle ALL the time. It then progressed to "Mum, when do we get to celebrate EOFYS?" And now i apparently have to make an EOFYS cake!
I wonder if he will grow up to be an accountant?

Ryan

Ryan flicking his food at me. As you can see he has been a rascal for a really long time!
Ryan has a herniated belly button. It was as big as a golf ball! He now has an outie belly button because of it. So Nathan that is how you get on outie. Doctors cant "make" them at your request! (For those of you who hadn't heard a few hours after Matthew's birth Nathan asked when the doctor was coming back. When I asked what for? He said "I want to ask him to make him an outie belly button!" The poor boy had no idea that when he cut the cord he had "made" the belly button! Yes people this man is leading the nation in your respect to your country defence!)

Ryan and Matthew painting with cornflour paint. Their names where still there when we left that house after numerous attempts to wash it off!

My little raspberry blower! As a bub he was obsessed with them! We thought he was going to burst his pooper value he would blow so hard!

Ryan's God father is a pilot. Here he is wearing his cap.

Don't tell his Grandparents he might be a Queenslander at heart. He loved mangoes from an early age.
Ryan still sleeps with his friends stuffed into his PJ's! We have been known to pull 6 friends out of various pj pieces!

We plan on getting this one out for his 21st. It will probably be the next time he thinks its fun to wears a bundy rum hat!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Watermelon! No other explanation necessary!
