Yesterday I found Matthew sitting at the computer. This is not unusual. The unusual part was there was no screaming at the screen whilst playing some silly game. This morning he was perusing pictures of whales. When he saw me he called me over to show me what he had found. He had up pages and pages of whales. He clicked through a few, telling me the name of the whale (like Orca not willy!). I asked him how he found them. He rolled his eyes at me and said "Google" (I'm sure you can all imagine the tone of his voice as I'm sure everyone has used the same tone when their parents have asked something stupid!). I then asked him to show me how he had done it and sure enough he just types (with one finger stabbing mind you! So male!) "Whales" into the search engine! So of course I asked him how he learnt that. His first answer was that he just knew it but it turns out a friend from school showed him!
I can't believe how quickly he is growing up! I cant believe how smart he is! We need to hurry up and get some filters on the computer!
It gets even better. Running in the door after being shopping with his Dad, Matthew burst in shouting "Yay, time for more research!" His nerdy father couldn't be more proud!

Remember the spider......

Well we managed to get it off the roof! We called Michelle over. We told her she needed a BIG container. Cleon told her it was the size of her palm. I told her it was the size of a dinner plate. She trudged over reluctantly and was pleasantly surprised to see the variety of spider! However fast forward to today and this time it was Ben who threw it up and stuck it tight on the roof. (That boy would do anything to gain Michelle attention!) But was told there was no way I was getting it down, nor was I going to call Michelle over! Soooooo...........................
While I was showering the other two boys he decided this was a clever idea to get the spider unstuck from the roof!

Yes that is my ROCKING CHAIR! With all of the cushions and blankets that reside in the family room! Can you guess why the pile is listing to the side????? You guessed it! Ben figured if he stacked them up he would be tall enough to get it down! Guess what? He isn't! And rocking chairs are REALLY unstable! Thank heavens he is built the way he is and he didn't break anything! And he now knows that stacking pillows on top of a rocking chair is not going to make him tall enough! I don't think he will even learn not to climb on my chair!

Aaarrrrrhhhh!!!!!!!

There is a spider on the roof! And Nathan is away! And I'm scared of spiders! And it seriously as big as a dinner plate! And it is the ugliest one I have ever seen! How am I going to get rid of it?










Ryan threw it up there at 7am this morning and now at 11.36 it is still there. It will probably still be there until Friday when Nath gets home!

Well, he got it when Ryan was sitting on his head, farting. Ben squirmed (with hysterical giggling mind you!) and that meant his head was musheed into the concrete racing track in our back yard! Noice!!

We are well and truly in the middle of the farting, burping and bodily functions phase of boyhood. I know boys need to be boys but why is it so hard to try to mould them into civilised human beings? I am thinking it is nearly time to put them in a dutch oven cooked by their father in the hope of curing this current "Phase"!

Crazy Hair Day

The SRC wanted to do some fund raising so they could purchase something to go in the new library we are receiving courtesy of the stimulus package, so they decided to have a crazy hair day at school. We don't have funky hair bobbles or ribbons or even coloured hair spray but we did have gel....... and lots of it!

Crazy enough? They were very pleased with the results!

I'm getting old.....

I now have to wear glasses! I have to wear them driving and to watch the TV. The optometrist said I was borderline for maintaining my licence but well and truly over that line for driving at night! So I got them asap! I am so surprised at how much of a difference they make! It is like I have been looking through glad wrap for the last however many years and now I can see so clearly! Apparently fuzzy outlines are just my vision and we don't have really bad TV reception, I just needed better vision!
So now all that needs to be answered.......... Do I look smarter?
